Saxophonist Jeanette Harris shows her versatility on her new CD release Chocolate Vibez. From smooth to hoppin’, Chocolate Vibez lives from the tension between quick hip hop beat and longdrawn sax tones amidst the powerful synth bass. Jeanette sings with her sax old school songs such as Tina Marie’s Square Biz and newer smooth jazz sounds.

We are in store for a great performance from this new release, Chocolate Vibez, Jeanette’s powerful repertoire. Pamela Hart will start the evening with her sultry smooth/dynamic and traditional jazz vocals.

FOUR WOMEN: A Tribute to Four Great Singers

The Women in Jazz Association, Inc. continues its tribute series with ‘Four Women: A Tribute to Great Singers.’ Pamela Hart, Jacqui Cross, Akina Adderley and Jackie Walker will perform songs made popular by Nina Simone, Nancy Wilson, Dinah Washington and Peggy Lee. These performances are in line with Women in Jazz’ mission to keep jazz vocals alive and strong. Surely, we will see and hear a wonderful performance from these four beautiful and talented women who have unique sounds of their own. These fine ladies will be accompanied by pianist Vince Wiley, drummer Brannon Temple, guitarist Dave Scher, & bassist Nick Clark. The show will be hosted by MC Jabari Warfield. Don't miss it!

Austin's First Lady of Jazz, Pamela Hart and scholar of American religion Tracy Fessenden have crafted an evening of music and commentary around the life of Billie Holiday.

The Historic Victory Grill is the venue where black musicians on the Chitlin' Circuit performed in segregated Austin of the post WWII era.
